KIWANIS EASTER EGG HUNT: Come hopping down the bunny trail to the Kiwanis Annual Easter Egg Hunt. It will be in Sparkman Park between the baseball fields and the pavilions on April 23 at 10:00 AM. The hunt is opened to children of all abilities. There will be prize ages in each division. (Ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-10) This is a free event.
EASTER DOG BONE HUNT: Bring Spot and Rover to get in on the Easter excitement at the Annual Dog Bone Hunt. It’s just like an egg hunt for the kids but it’s a bone hunt for the dogs!! The event will be in the pavilion area of Sparkman Park on April 23 beginning at 1:00 PM. Please bring a bag to take home the bones. We will be judging the dogs in the following categories: cutest dog, most unusual dog, best Easter costume, biggest dog, smallest dog, most vocal dog, and looks most like owner. All dogs must be on a leash. One dog per person please. This is a free event
SWIMMING LESSON REGISTRATION: The Red Cross Swimming Lesson Registration will begin May 9 at 8:00 AM at the civic center and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM until all spaces have been filled. Fees are $35 for Level I and above. Students must be at least 6 years old to enter Level I. Fees for Infant/Toddler and Preschool are $30. Preschool students are ages 3-5. Infant/Toddler students are ages 6 months through 2 years. An adult must get into the water with students in this class. Classes meet Monday through Thursday. The fee covers the entire two week session.

SUMMER ART CLASSES: Michele Wilson will be teaching painting, drawing, sculpting, molding, and more this summer. Each session is Monday through Thursday. The sessions will begin June 6 and will continue each week through July 28 excluding the week of the 4th of July. The fee is $100 per child per week. This amount includes all supplies. There is also a $10 registration fee. Class times for preschool is 9:00 AM, elementary is 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1:00 PM, and jr/high school class will be at 2:30 and 4:00 PM. KARATE: Chappell’s Family Karate is hosting classes at Sparkman Civic Center on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Adults and children ages 3 and older are welcome to join Donnie Chappell as he teaches life skills in a Christian environment. The fee for ages 3-5 is $45 per month and $65 for ages 6 through adult.
BATON: Shirley BeShears, owner and coach of Southern Starlet Baton and Twirlers of Cullman, is offering Baton classes on Monday afternoons at 3:45 PM. She has taught baton for over thirty years. Her teams have won hundreds of state and regional twirling titles and 16 national titles. Classes are offered for ages 5 and older. The fee is $40 per month. AEROBICS: This class is perfect for the young and the young at heart! This low impact step aerobics class is the best bargain in town at only $25 per month. Come move with us! Classes are at 8:00 AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you’re not sure you want to join this class, come try a FREE trial class. You will be glad you did.
STAR TREK FAN CLUB: The U.S.S. Dejah Thoris is the Hartselle chapter of Starfleet, the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. They are involved with charity groups, community projects, and fundraisers. They participate in parties, family outings, cookouts, bowling, Region Summits and many other things. They have a cadet program for those with small children and teenagers. Our membership includes families and folks from all walks of life. They meet one Saturday per month. The membership fee is $15 for one, family of 2 is $22, 3 for $25, 4 for $28 and 5 for $31.
