Nuisance Abatement
Nuisance abatement is concerned with the preservation, maintenance, and aesthetics of all residential, commercial, and industrial properties within the City of Hartselle. The department, in a joint effort with property owners and tenants, helps ensure that the City of Hartselle is a place in which you want to live, work, and raise a family.
Grass & Weeds
It shall be a violation for any person to permit grass & weeds to grow to a height in excess of 12 inches on any premises or lot within the City.
Maintenance of Land
All land shall be maintained free from any accumulation of garbage or debris.
Swimming Pool
It shall be a violation for any person to have any collection of standing water or flowing water in which mosquitoes breed or are likely to breed.
Structures
It shall be a violation for any person to permit any buildings, structures, or conditions which are:
Unsafe, insanitary or unfit for habitation
Which constitute a fire hazard
Dangerous to human life
Constitutes a hazard to safety or health
