Road Closure

Main Street at the railroad tracks will be closed on Monday June 17 at 6:00 AM for repairs. The street will reopen sometime in the afternoon. All other R/R crossings will be open for traffic. Large vehicles need to be aware of this closing. There will be detour signs posted.

Board Openings

The City of Hartselle is accepting applications for the following board positions:

Utilities Board – two expired positions, six year term
Cemetery Board – two expired positions, five year term

Applications are available at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall or on the City’s website. Applications must be turned into the City Clerk’s office by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013

Work Session Cancelled

The City Council Work Session scheduled for Monday, June 10th has been cancelled. The Regular Council meeting will be held as scheduled on Tuesday, June 11th at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at City Hall.

Special Election – Absentee Ballot

Thursday, Nov. 1st is the last day to “apply” for an absentee ballot for the upcoming Special Election (Wet/Dry Referendum).

Hartselle’s Annual Caring Day

On Friday, November 2^th the City of Hartselle and Hartselle Beautification Association will sponsor our annual Caring Day. On November 2, we ask our residents to place canned goods 5 feet away from their recycle bins. All canned goods will be picked up and taken to the Caring Place and distributed among the Caring Place, the First Assembly of God, the First Church of the Nazarene, and the First United Methodist Church (food pantries). This drive will help the food pantries get ready to help families and individuals for Thanksgiving.

Canned goods may also be placed in drop off bins from October 19^th until November 2 at the following locations: City Hall, Hartselle Utilities, Joe Wheeler EMC, The William Bradford Huie Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce, Hometown Grocery, the Hartselle Enquirer, Ace Auto Body, Sparkman Civic Center, both Fire Stations, Walgreen Drug Store, CVS Pharmacy, Dollar General Store, Kroger, and all banks in Hartselle. The schools will also be participating again this year. Last year, we collected 8,840 cans! We need more this year!
